rock climbing at Sebastopol bluffs

Mount Cook's Sebastopol Bluffs rock climbing area is located only 3 km from Alpine Guides’ base. With unbeatable views and reliable red greywacke, it is the perfect venue to learn rock climbing, develop your multi-pitch rock skills, or begin your trad rock climbing adventures.

Alpine Guides rock climbing trips run every fine day, from mid-October through April. We need advance bookings to ensure we have a guide available. All our guides are NZMGA/IFMGA or NZOIA Rock-qualified professionals. All the technical gear is provided.

All rock climbing trips are weather-dependent. A full refund is provided if we can’t operate due to bad weather. Please read through our Terms and Conditions, so you understand our cancellation policy.

Here’s a handy chart showing a comparison of the Ewbank (AU/NZ) rock climbing grades to US, UK, French, and UIAA systems.
